Tuesday workout – Legs!

6:00 AM WORKOUT (70 minutes) – Legs

  • Warmup; Back Extensions – 3 sets of 10, Sit-ups 3 sets of 10, 3/4 GAAK Squats – 3 sets of 10
  • Clean @65lbs, 4 sets of 2, front squats @ 65lbs, 4 sets of 2, Jerks@65lbs 4 sets of 2
  • Front Squat – 1 set of 4@125lbs, 1 set of 4@150lbs, 1 set of 4@175lbs, 4 sets of 4@200lbs
  • Split Squat 8@75lbs for 4 sets per leg
  • 24 inch box drop – 4 sets of 8 reps – drop into squat, jump up out of squat.
  • Note: This was day two of Oleksiy Torokhtiy’s leg strength program (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ygoz0ANCct) – he is an Olympic champion weightlifter and has some great insights into how to properly lift weights. This is a 5 week course designed to increase leg strength and it was time for a change in my training and so I opted to try this series for the next 5 weeks and see how I like it.

12:30PM – 90 minutes of indoor bouldering
